In this article, we will discuss if there are any differences the two mediums when it comes to our education?
We use wage statistics, learner performance, length of time to unblemished a degree or procedure and varied other factors.
Salary statistics - who gets paid more? Online or customary grads?
A slight about me, I used both mediums to cover parts of my instruction journey. So, i have friends/acquaintance who graduated from these two mediums, who were used to do this study (50 of them, evenly distributed). I can't be used since i had used both mediums. Here are the results of study, keep in mind, this is independent study by an mean joe, no fancy stuff here:
* 73% of online degree graduates are manufacture more money than their counterparts.
Upon additional questioning, I found out that the reason for higher pay/status is not only slight how the degrees were obtained. It was also the fact that these students were taking more online classes (they are used to this medium) in "continuing education" during their pro life.
Student doing - who had higher Gpa and how long it took? Isolated grads or party & frats?
In this part of the study, I was seeing for Gpa and the length of time it took to secure the degree. One thing became clear right away:
1. Online degree grads got their degrees completed in 30% less time than traditional. It could be credited to the fact that you can take your laptop anywhere to unblemished your homework/study, job, vacation, house reunion etc. You instruction is just as mobile as carrying your cell phone.
2. Online degree students were more participative, created study groups, more engaged in their classes. They seemed to know and keep more of the subjects learned. It may be due to the fact that many of the shy students don't speak up or share in class discussions. The anonymity increases engagement level and learning capacity.
3. To rejoinder other question, Gpa for both groups were both in the same range, not much difference. It is hard to illustrate this phenomenon as it contradicts the point above (#2). I guess it doesn't surely make a dissimilarity if Gpa is your goal, which it should be. That's good news, it gives you more choices and flexibility.
Two more things I like to mention:
1. You pay way more for a customary university than online degree. If cost is your main thing, go online.
2. Second point, you may miss out on some of the on campus activities that happen before, during and after school :)
